Desktop Bandar is made and sold by an independent developer in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India (“Desktop Bandar”, “we”, “us”). You can reach us any time on our Contact us page. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We follow India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
The short version
The app plays on your own computer. It never reads your screen, your files or what you type.

🚫 No ads, no tracking cookies, and we never sell your data.
What the app does on your computer
To react to what you’re doing, the app checks which kind of app is in front (a video, music, office work, code or a video call) on your own computer. That is never sent to us. His name, your name, outfits, reminders, his diary and the 30-second clips you record are saved on your own computer only.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address (and your name, if you sign in with Google), and your username.
- Your licence: what you bought, when, and its status; and for the computer it is active on, a random computer id and a security key that the app makes. We don’t collect your computer’s name, serial number or hardware details.
- Licence check-ins: the app checks in about every 6 hours. We keep the time and the internet (IP) address of check-ins and sign-ins, to stop licence sharing and abuse.
- Payments: from Razorpay we receive the payment id, amount and whether it succeeded or was refunded. We never see your card, UPI or bank details.
- Things you send us: reviews (the name and words you type), photos or videos you share for the fan wall, and your emails to us.
- The website: your monkey’s settings are saved in your own browser. Our hosting (Cloudflare) keeps short security logs of visits.
- Friends Connect (coming soon): your friends list and the messages your monkey carries, only to deliver them.
Why we use it
To give you your licence and keep it on one computer at a time, to take payments and refunds, to stop fraud and sharing, to answer you when you write to us, and to meet our legal and tax duties.
Who helps us
These services handle data for us, under their own privacy promises: Supabase (accounts and licences, stored in Mumbai, India), Cloudflare (website hosting and security), Razorpay (payments), Google (sign-in with Google, and the website’s fonts) and GitHub (the download files). We share nothing else with anyone, unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Your account and licence data stays while your account exists. Payment records are kept for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires (usually 8 years). Check-in and security logs are kept for up to 12 months.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account (your licence ends when your account is deleted). You can also withdraw consent or raise a complaint. Write to our grievance officer below; we reply within 7 days.

Children
Children under 18 should use Desktop Bandar with a parent or guardian’s consent, and a parent or guardian should make the purchase.
Keeping it safe
Licence data is only reachable by our licence server; passwords are never stored by us (you sign in with Google or an email code), and everything travels over encrypted connections.
Changes
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. For big changes, we’ll tell you on the website.
